Every scale is a design constraint, not a slogan
The balcony grower and the multi-field farm run through the same setup, the same modules and the same agents. That's deliberate: advice for a balcony can't assume ground soil or machinery, so Grovabe asks where you grow, how much space you have, and whether you grow under cover — then every piece of advice, from Farma's answers to your Monday report, is shaped around your reality.

Setting up takes minutes. You tell Grovabe what kind of grower you are, where you are in the UK, whether you grow outdoors or under glass or polytunnel, and what you grow or keep — chosen from curated UK lists so every option comes with real reference data behind it: pest pressure, days to maturity, sowing windows, vaccine schedules.

A number in Grovabe might decide when you cull, what you plant, or what you borrow against. So the whole product is built around a few hard rules.
An invented problem is worse than no alert
Every monitoring agent — mortality, weather, disease — is a deterministic check against real data. No AI sits between the data and the alarm, so an agent can never hallucinate an outbreak, a frost, or a spike. Livestock disease alerts come straight from live APHA restriction-zone data for your exact coordinates; crop disease alerts are worded as forecasts ("conditions favour — go and scout"), never as detections.
A recommendation is advice, never a filter
Grovabe suggests what suits your climate and shows what's popular near you — but the full list of options is always visible and reachable. A Highland grower can still pick chillies. We tell you what we know; we never quietly decide for you.
Bands, not promises
Yield isn't a single number, so Grovabe never gives you one. The Land planner returns low–high bands and says plainly that it's a sense of scale, not a forecast and not a valuation. Crops that only hit their numbers under glass are flagged "needs cover" rather than quietly inflating an open field's total.
Your data works for you — and stays yours
Local trends are pooled from real Grovabe growers, but no statistic is ever shown unless at least five distinct farms stand behind it — so a "local average" can never be one neighbour's private numbers. Your location is stored as a town or village, never an address. You can export or delete everything, any time.
